This is a 1 centre holiday based in a luxury self catering guest house in the centre of the medieval village of Calonge which sits in the foothills of the Gavarres mountains.

It is a 3 kms walk to the coast and is well placed for exploring the surrounding area including the Gavarres, the vineyards, the medieval villages and the Camin de Ronda coastal paths. The house is well equipped and can accommodate up to 6 people and offers a private south facing roof terrace and an outdoor heated swimming pool.

It is particularly nice as a base for walking in spring and autumn and has a wood burning stove, central heating and three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The house has an open plan lounge through to dining area and a well equipped kitchen plus a laundry room and library . It offers free view TV and has WI FI access. The village has many facilities including a supermarket, a butcher’s, fish shop, chemist, two bakeries, cafes and restaurants plus a weekly market where you can stock up with local fruit and veg.

Day 1: Collect from Caldes de Malvela if arriving from Barcelona or pick up at Girona airport. Welcome pack supplied with essential groceries.

Welcome meeting over a drink with route maps, notes, fact sheets etc.

Day 2: Circular route leaving Calonge behind and set off through the vineyards of Calonge to the church of Bell Lloc returning via Palamos and the coastal path of San Antoni. Distance 12 kms Level easy to moderate.

Day 3: Water has always been scarce and this walk visits many natural springs/ fonts which has enabled people to settle in small hamlets like Romanya de la Selva. This walk provides the most spectacular views towards the coast.

Day 4:
Camin de Ronda coastal path. La Fosca to Calella de Palafrugell via Castells beach.
Distance: 12 kms

Day 5: Medieval Villages. Begur to Peratallada via Pals, Fontclara and Palau Sator
Distance: 16kms
Level: Easy

Day 6: Camin de Ronda coastal path .Calella to Begur.
Distance: 14 kms
Level: Easy to Moderate


Cycle Catalan walking tours

Day 7: The Dolmens of Fitor. Your walk starts at Can Piug and follows the path to Fitor which has the greatest concentration of dolmens in Baix Emporda. The dolmens were collective burial sites situated in hilly visible places to allow the sun’s rays to penetrate the chambers.

Level: Moderate

Day 8: Depart back to Barcelona or Girona.
