our extensive knowledge of the area to create the perfect
cycling holiday which will incorporate all the things we love
most about living here, the wild flowers in Spring, the miles
of unspoilt coastline, the lush farmland, the orchards, the
fantastic seafood, the local wines, the perfectly preserved
medieval villages, the local markets, the festivals, and of
course the weather which enables you to sit in the square
with a coffee and watch the world go by.
One of the many charms of this area is its privileged location
between the sea and the mountains. There are 3 areas of special
interest, the Isles de Medes, a tiny archipelago which has
a unique flora and fauna system, and supports a lavish
marine life, the Auguamolls Natural Park, a unique wetland,
home to over 300species of birds, including ibis, snipes,
redshanks, herons and spoonbills, and the Gavarres Natural
Park, where wild boar roam through the ancient cork, oak and
pine forests. The main economy in the area is agriculture
and tourism.
